“We have made many visits to Paris over the years but this was our first time renting an apartment for the week. It made a wonderful difference having a place to come "home" to each night instead of going back to a hotel room. Chardonay exceeded our expectations for quaility and comfort.”

Left bank, heart of the 7th arrondissement. Staying in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Paris means everything. The vacation apartment is surrounded by cafés, shops, restaurants and open markets; it retains its original village feel.
Views from the Apartment
- Incredible view of the neighborhood from the balcony of our vacation rental in Paris. Look right to see the magic Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars Park from the balcony and living room. Staying in apartments with views like this creates a memory of a lifetime.
On Your Doorstep
- The location is one of the best in Paris: 3-minute walk to the river; 15 minutes to the Invalides; 10 minutes to the Trocadéro; the Grand Palais and the couturier's on Ave. Montaigne, the Four Seasons George V for tea or 3-star dining; 15-minute walk to the Champs Elysées; 20-minute walk to Place de la Concorde and the Bon Marché department store.
- You are surrounded by restaurants that local Parisians go to, cafés, bistros and shops.
- You are six blocks to the golden dome of the Invalides, where Napoleon is buried, along with surrounding park.
- You are seven blocks to the incredible Rodin Museum.
- The Seine River is three blocks away and right near where the famous Bateau Mouche boat tours begin.
- Open Markets: Rue Cler is five blocks away, one of the best and most famous streets for food in Paris. Pont de l'Alma is a five-minutes walk and has the largest open market in Paris every Saturday morning. Merchants come from the country with wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, pâtés, breads, even five types of escargots!
- Ecole Militaire métro is 4 blocks; 4 blocks to Pont de l'Alma métro. Numerous bus lines.
Summary
- One block to the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars. The Champ de Mars Park is a rare bonus in Paris as there are few large parks in the center of the city. Walk, run, play in 1 of 3 playgrounds, basketball court, go to the puppet theater or just sit and enjoy. Nearby skating and bike rental are fun activities in the park, especially after strenuous site seeing. The apartment is next to the American Library, an institution in Paris, and across from an old elementary school built at the turn-of-the-century.
- In January 2005, the Eiffel Tower converted the first floor into an ice skating rink 189 feet high above the rooftops of Paris; we hope it will continue every year.
We leave several Paris guidebooks and other information on the neighborhood for you to peruse during your stay.
This is a non-smoking apartment and, sorry, but no pets are allowed.
We think you will be delighted to stay in our Paris apartment! Please let me know if you have any other questions about our Paris vacation apartment or would like to check availability; we are happy to help. - One block to the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars. Map
Our beautiful Paris vacation rental is 650 sq. feet with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and long south-facing balcony. It matches our demanding requirements for a fantastic apartment for your vacation in Paris: We found this beautiful Paris apartment for your vacation rental by sheer luck. While admiring a painting at a neighborhood art dealer, we heard that the artist's niece lived in the same apartment building and was going to put it on the market. It never made it onto the market as we signed the same day we saw it. The Chardonnay Paris vacation rental apartment is perfect for two couples visiting Paris; or a family of five with young children.
Enter our Parisian vacation rental to find the toilet on your left, with small sink for extra 'getting ready' room. It is tiled in white Carrara marble with a gray and pink geometric border. We found an antique marble bowl at an antique market in Italy, carried it back, and converted it into a beautiful little sink.
The kitchen of the apartment is next on your left; newly remodeled with contemporary pale wood cabinets and pale granite worktops. A heavy sliding glass panel with simple, sandblasted design slides shut to close off the kitchen, providing an attractive feature when viewed from the living room. The kitchen of our Paris vacation rental is fitted with all appliances: refrigerator/freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, and espresso machine. Dishes are from E. Dehellerin in Paris, the shop which furnishes all good restaurants. With a full array of cookware, you can shop the local market and prepare your own gourmet meals.
Enter the piece de resistance of our Paris vacation rental on your right and you know you're in Paris. The living room is a southwest facing double room and has two sets of French doors which open onto a sunny balcony. This room has beautiful, original oak parquet floors, a white marble fireplace, and mirror. The first half of the living room includes an antique chest of drawers next to the fireplace. The round, beech wood dining table is on the other side of the fireplace and expands to seat six.
Special sliding panel doors of maple and sycamore were made to open up the room during the day and slide closed as needed, making a separate bedroom to sleep two.
The second half of the living room is furnished with an Empire-style 'lit bateau' daybed that is attractive and practical as it provides comfortable seating during the day and pulls out to make comfortable twin beds at night. We believe our guests prefer these deluxe beds to what is generally available in vacation rentals in Paris. The TV (watch CNN or BBC news), DVD player (bring your favorite movies as well), and sound system make it a comfortable room for relaxing in after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. There is a beautiful antique table and mirror on the left wall of the living room, facing the French doors. A built-in closet provides extra hanging and storage space in our Paris apartment. There is free access to a wireless adsl line for your computer, with secure password.
The view of Paris from the balcony of our vacation rental is special: looking down the tree-lined Avenue de la Bourdonnais, over a low, red-brick, turn-of-the-century school and directly into the trees of the Champ de Mars to the right. Look right from the balcony and you see the Eiffel tower, only a block away. The view at night is very special, as you can stand on the balcony and watch the magic show of lights on the Eiffel Tower every hour.
It's wonderful to watch the day unfold below: parents taking children to school; people buying their morning and evening baguettes, coming back from the market with their shopping baskets full, or joining friends for an espresso in the café on the corner. We believe that a great view is an important factor to a wonderful stay in Paris, whether it's for your first or fiftieth time. It is extremely difficult to find these kinds of apartments; we say they must have the 'Wow!' factor when you walk in the door. As a result, our selection is small, but we are uncompromising in our standards.
Proceed down the corridor to find the first bathroom on your right, including a full fixed shower and sink, tiled in beige limestone. The washer and dryer are in the closet next to the bathroom.
The apartment corridor widens to a reading room which becomes the second bedroom, to sleep one or two. This room is naturally lit by a large window in the corridor, overlooking the quiet courtyard of the building. This cozy room has built-in bookshelves, lamps, built-in closet and an Empire-style wooden day bed. The day bed is similar to the one in the living room, with twin mattress and second pullout twin bed underneath. This is a perfect room for quiet reading or napping, as doors close it off from the entryway and master bedroom. And at night you can view the top of Paris' most visited monument, the Eiffel Tower.
Going through the reading room you arrive in the master bedroom of our Paris rental, with a large window overlooking the inner courtyard of the building. The extra-wide queen bed is new with high quality mattress. There is a built-in closet with television above.
The compact second bathroom is en suite, with full, fixed shower and handmade sink, painted with flowers. It is tiled in beige French limestone with halogen down lights.
An important note: all of the windows are state-of-the-art double glazed, the same as used in luxury hotels. The apartment is located in the middle of this bustling city, but is extremely quiet for a good night's sleep.

“Dear Madelyn et Philippe,
We attempted, while packing, to record in the apartment guestbook how much we loved Chardonnay, but admittedly, didn't do an adequate job of of it. It was too difficult, saying goodbye through tears to "our" place, recalling all the great things about staying there. This was my sixth trip to Paris, and Ariana's second (as a teenager). We already loved Paris; this was by far the BEST trip, in large part to the hospitality, kindness, and fantastic way in which you and the ParisPerfect Team run your business: with honesty, patience, responsiveness, and integrity.
It's hard to describe how happy we were there!
We treasure your--"our" temporary-- little home.
Everything WAS "ParisPerfect." No wonder it's impossible to say it adequately, for that would mean describing eight great and full days, with their accompanying minutes and hours. Your suggestions for shops, restaruants, sights near the flat, were "spot-on". For example, I loved the closeness to Ave Montaigne, and walking through the amber-scented lobby of the Plaza Athenee, but was glad to return to Chardonnay, marveling at the comparative bargain rate for a full 2 bedroom flat and much better view of the Eiffel Tower! And the Saxe Breteuil Market on Saturday morning. Fantastic--just as you write in your guide. Furthermore, your "bible" had excellent advice on use of the appliances--even technologically-challenged me was able to use them without problems. From your taxi list, we called Victor, who sent a colleague/friend to drive us to Bercy. This man was prompt, courteous, and drove us in style, in a beautiful, clean, COOL sedan. Another great recommendation from you, so IF you can, please let Victor know this too. (If it helps to describe, the fellow driver was from Vietnam.)
In the past, we loved staying near Mouffetard, but either it has "gone downhill" or we've become spoiled by our love of the 7th and in particular, the quiet area near Chardonnay--including morning coffee at the non-smoking place (bliss!) around the corner up Ave de la Bourdonnais toward the Seine--the BEST pain aux raisins EVER --not "trop brioche" and doughy like others. So Madelyn, you were correct in predicting, when first I enquired, that if we liked Mouffetard, we'd like Rue Cler. What a great street that is! I'd expected loads of fellow American tourists, but was surpirsed instead by the many local residents there, gathering especially after work at the shops and cafes.
Madelyn, thanks for your "welcome" gift. The baguette holder is on the night stand at home, as a mini-tablecloth. Merci, for more wonderful memories. Philippe, the wine was perfect accompaniment as we lounged on the sofa after a long day of walking everywhere.
The Nespresso machine arrived yesterday and iset up. Voila!-- the sound and aroma of Chardonnay's kitchen, magically transferred to ours in California. Ahhhh...the simple joy of sitting on the little balcony in the morning, sipping Nespresso, just after opening the well sound-proofed French doors to the songs of neighborhood birds.
Best wishes, and MERCI BEAUCOUP A TOUT! . You run a spectacular, lovely, and well-oiled machine that gave us a wonderful trip to Paris.
If any of your possible future guests would like to ask more detailed or specific questions, please feel free to email me at melloreb@mindspring.com. We'll gladly, (and a bit enviously) share the joy (- :
Sincerely,
Rebecca and Ariana

Thank you for making the Chardonnay place a truly wonderful experience for us. Your homely apartment made our stay a memorable one (we celebrated 2 birthdays here). The furnishings (from the exquisite furniture to the Toile beddings and pillows) and appliances were a marvel to look at as well as simple and fun to use. It is such a big convenience to have everything right at your fingertips, every information we needed was written down on the yellow book.
We hope to come back again sometime and will not hesitate to tell our friends about Paris Perfect.
Sincerely,
Theresa, Marge and Geraldine”

“We just returned from a family vacation in Paris where we rented two apartments, Chardonnay and Cabernet. They were everything we needed to make our time in Paris enjoyable. The kitchens were small but useable and very well done with the granite and tile. The bathrooms were also small but very clean and well done with the tile and good lighting. Every night we enjoyed the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower, on the hour for 10 minutes, from our living room. I would go back to a Paris Perfect apartment in a minute.

“I travelled to Paris to attend a series of meetings, and due to the extended length of time away, decided to bring my family also.
Chardonnay was a very pleasant apartment, for Lindy and I , and our daughters aged 8 and 10. It was great to live as Parisians, rather than tourists, and certainly was much less expensive. While there it snowed, and our girls had the delight of playing in the Champ du Mars (2 minutes walk away) in fresh snow. The apartment had everything we needed, and with a supermarket 5 minutes away it was great to be ahble to do our own cooking if we wanted.
A really great stay.

“My family stayed in the Chardonnay appartment for one week in September 2004. We loved it, everything was perfect. It is a perfect way to have a family vacation in Paris, instead of staying at a hotel. It feels like coming "home" when you come back to the appartment after a day of sightseeing or shopping. The children (11 and 14 yrs) also loved it.
The appartment is very well equipped. Also, I would like to emphasize the very comfortable beds and the fact that it is quiet at night, so you sleep very well even in the middle of a big city.
The neighborhood is lovely, fantastic with the Eiffel tower so close. (tip: visit the tower at dusk, wonderful atmosphere and almost no lines)
We all want to go again, and to stay at "our" appartment Chardonnay!”

“We just returned from a week in the beautiful Chardonnay apartment in Paris. This was my first experience in booking an apartment on the internet, and I was a bit apprehensive. In the past I have found that pictures of hotel rooms can be very deceptive (do they hang from the ceiling to take those pictures???).
However, the Chardonnay apartment was perhaps even better than the pictures on the website. The apartment was beautifully decorated and very clean. The location was great, in a very nice residential area but close to shopping, restaurants, metro and train, Eiffel Tower and Invalides. And a longish but not bad walk on a nice day to the Louvre, the D'Orsay, or the Champs Elysee.
I can hardly wait to return and try another of the Paris Perfect apartments!”

“Philippe and Madelyn:
Staying in the Merlot and then the Chardonnay made our trip one to remember! All the amenities of home, but in Paris, what more could one ask? Thank you for providing easy to follow instructions for getting to and from the apartments and surrounding area - made finding our jeg-lagged way simple!
Our hats off to you for creating such a positive, relaxing experience for those wishing to enjoy all Paris has to offer. We'll be back! Maybe we'll even let our husbands come next time...

“Our family (two adults & twin teenage girls) recently stayed in the Chardonnay apartment in Paris and we were absolutely delighted with it. The apartment is beautifully presented, wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower and excellent kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and laundry facilities, nothing has been forgotten. The location is perfect with very easy access to the metro, RER and Batobus. There is fantastic food shopping a few blocks away as well as good local restaurants. Philippe and Madelyn provide excellent information on all that happens around you as well.”

“Just wanted to say how much we ejoyed our stay in Chardonnay - a great location that is very safe near the Eiffel Tower and the metro. The local shops have everything you need and are friendly and helpful to non french speakers. The apartment itself is compact but really well designed space - interiors are immaculate and beautifully furnished. Having the DVD players etc was also just the right touch for our family which included three young adults as well as middle aged parents. When you go somewhere sight unseen, you have to trust that the owners will be there and it will be as you hope - this apartment met all of our expectations and I would recommend the sercie to other Australians travellilng to Paris.
