Welcome to the Luberon, our charming one bedroom apartment right in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Paris' 5th arrondissement. This Paris vacation rental is located in a building dating from the 1600s, and many of the historic features have been lovingly preserved. Due to the historic setting, this building does not have an elevator, but you can feel the history as you climb the stairs to this 2nd floor (3rd floor American) apartment. We feel the excellent location near the Panthéon and the historic charms of the Luberon make it worth the climb!

The living room at the Luberon is a cozy spot for relaxing at the end of day exploring Paris. Just to the right of the living room is a dining area with kitchen nearby. The wooden beams in the ceiling add such a warm touch along with the views overlooking a charming Parisian square and the historic Polytechnique, an engineering school founded in 1794.

The living room at the Luberon will eventually have a long sofa, but at the moment is furnished with four comfortable armchairs. It's a peaceful spot for relaxing in the evenings with a good book or enjoying the street scenes below from the living room window.

PLEASE NOTE; For bookings after June 10, 2013, the Luberon will welcome up to 3 guests with the additional sleeping space provided by a comfortable flip open ottoman in the living room that converts to a single bed.

The large coffee table in the living room is a great spot to spread out your maps or books and plan your next day sightseeing in Paris. You'll be walking distance to so many top spots in Paris from the Luberon, including Notre-Dame Cathedral and islands, the Seine River, Panthéon and some of the best markets in Paris.

In the kitchen you'll find a cute bistro table and chairs where you can enjoy breakfast or a quick snack during your stay. Just outside the kitchen is a dining area lit by a beautiful chandelier and beyond that the living room.

The Luberon has been beautifully decorated with antiques that add the perfect touch and complement the historic details of the apartment. In the kitchen you'll spot the antique doors that were once a part of an armoire found at a Paris flea market. They have been transformed into custom-made cabinets and add such charm to the kitchen décor!

The warm color tones and lovely décor at the Luberon is carried into the kitchen where you'll find terra cotta colored tiles and a modern kitchen.

The kitchen at this Paris apartment is fully equipped with everything you'll need to prepare and serve meals at home. There's a dishwasher, microwave, oven, five-burner gas stove top full size refrigerator/ freezer, toaster, teapot and a large apron front farmhouse style kitchen sink.

The wooden beams and unique lighting set a lovely tone in the Luberon's bedroom, which features two twin beds that be zipped together to create a king size bed. Simply let us know which configuration you prefer and it will be ready when you arrive.

We simply fell in love with the bedroom at the Luberon! The windows overlook the same views as the living room of a charming Parisian square and the Polytechnique nearby. The windows feature the best double glazing so you'll enjoy a peaceful rest at night.

The bathroom at the Luberon features a shower stall with beautiful tiles and a sink with storage below. The toilet is located in a separate powder room with a sink.

The Luberon has been beautifully remodeled down to the little details in every room, including the bathroom. We love the glass-paneled doorway to the bathroom (opaque for privacy) with its unique arched top.

Charming architectural details have been carefully preserved throughout the apartment, including historic stonework, wooden beams and original tile work whenever possible.

Apartment overlooks grounds of former Polytechnic school
The Luberon overlooks the gardens of the École Polytechnique, which was an engineering school founded in 1794. It was located in the buildings across the street from 1805 to 1976. Just beyond you'll find a lovely little square with a great selection of restaurants and shops.

Just outside the Luberon and around the corner you'll spot the bell tower of the Church of St-Etienne-du-Mont near the Panthéon. Movie lovers will want to visit the spot on the side entrance to the church where Gil stepped back in time in Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris' movie.

When you step out the front door of the Luberon's historic building, you'll find a lovely square nearby with restaurants and cafés. There's nothing like being surrounded by the charms of Paris, and the Luberon's location is ideal for soaking up the atmosphere of the Latin Quarter and 5th arrondissement.

The Luberon is just around the corner and down a charming street from the famous Panthéon where many of France's greats are buried, including Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Marie Curie, Voltaire and many more.

Close to great restaurants and cafes
You'll be spoiled for great dining options in the neighborhood around the Luberon vacation rental. There's a great selection right around the apartment, or enjoy a romantic evening stroll over the Seine to the Ile de la Cité and Ile St-Louis islands nearby where you'll find charming restaurants tucked away in the medieval streets.

Fresh fruit and vegetables can be purchased nearby
Just down the street from the Luberon you'll have the chance to visit the open-air market that sets up in Place Maubert on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. With the established shops around the Place Maubert you can stop for daily shopping even on non-market days, too. It's a pleasure to have a kitchen at your Paris vacation rental, because you can bring home all the tempting items on display for a fresh and lovely dinner at the Luberon.

Enjoy finding the freshest produce, seafood, breads and cheeses at the little shops around the Luberon in the 5th arrondissement. You'll be shopping alongside Parisians while savoring a truly delicious aspect of daily life in France.

Shop along the famous rue Mouffetard market street
The 5th arrondissement southeast of the Panthéon is home to a gourmand's paradise - the open-air market street rue Mouffetard. This cobblestone pedestrian only street is lined with little food shops, butchers, bakers and probably even a candlestick maker, too! Throw in some lovely specialty boutiques and you've got a fabulous shopping experience. Hit this popular market street to pick out the freshest items for dinner or enjoy the lively atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Booksellers have been selling books along the Seine since the mid 16th century, and today the green boxes of les bouquinistes are a fixture along both sides of the river on the Left and Right Banks. We love strolling along and looking for treasures!

Walk to the Seine from the Luberon Paris rental
From the Luberon you'll be just a short stroll from the Seine where you can enjoy an evening stroll at sunset, cross over to explore the Ile de la Cité and nearby Ile St-Louis or hop on a bateaux mouche for a boat tour along the river to see the top sights in Paris.

Visit the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris
Staying in the heart of Paris means you'll enjoy the beauty of Paris every moment of your stay. Just down the street past Place Maubert you'll follow another charming street to the river where this stunning view of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame awaits. Take a stroll around the islands early in the morning and watch Paris wake up, or visit the cathedral after dark to see the Gothic interior lit up and the façade illuminated against the night sky. When you stay so close you can enjoy the landmarks of Paris many times during your stay!

The 5th arrondissement is a great area for shopping and finding those charming specialty shops, such as this adorable toy store. Perfect for finding something special for the little ones in your life!

Spend an afternoon in the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens
One of the pleasures of staying at the Luberon is being just a short walk from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. Enjoy a stroll or find a bench and just sit back and soak up the atmosphere in one of the most beautiful parks in Paris.

The incredible Luxembourg Palace sits within the gardens
At the northern end of the gardens you'll spot the grand Luxembourg Palace, which was built in the 17th century for Marie de Médicis in the style of her home in Florence, Italy. Today the Palace is home to the French Senate, but the east wing is open as the Musée du Luxembourg and hosts important art exhibitions.

Visit the medieval collections at the Musée de Cluny
This Luberon vacation rental in Paris is located very near the Musée National du Moyen Age, also called the Musée de Cluny. Step back in time to the Middle Ages as you enter the late 15th-century Hôtel de Cluny. The museum is home one of the finest collections of medieval art, including beautiful stained glass, decorative arts and the famous Lady and the Unicorn tapestries.

The Hôtel de Cluny is a work of art in itself and is an evocative setting for enjoying the medieval collections. One of the favorites in the museum is the striking Flamboyant Gothic Chapel pictured above.
