We walked through the front door and fell in love with the Paris rooftop views and the view of the Eiffel Tower on the left. Nothing beats a day of sunshine in Paris and spectacular views.

Look left from the bedroom to see the golden Invalides dome
Look left from the bedroom windows, beyond chimney pots and rooftops to see the golden Invalides dome. This is where Napoleon is buried and the grounds have one of the most interesting ancient military museums in the world. Across the street from the Invalides is the Rodin Museum, a must-see when you come to Paris. On warm days sit in the grounds and enjoy Rodin's sculptures while enjoying a picnic.

We consider ourselves very lucky to find an apartment with a panoramic Paris view from the living room, but were delighted when we stepped into the bedroom of Moulin à Vent Two large French doors and a view to the right of the golden dôme of the Invalides.

The living room is designed for comfort, with room for a long sofa and footstool to stretch out on and relax. We love the comfortable feel of modern and antique and that is how the Moulin à Vent is furnished.

Extra long sofa converts to two single beds at night
The living room sofa is over six feet long and extremely comfortable; you can take naps on it during the day. The bed converts to two single beds at night, a nice plus for families or two couples. A trundle bed pulls out from underneath and the main seat slides out further to make a regular width bed. A built-in closet is on the left and the bathroom and bedroom just beyond.

A flat screen TV pivots to face the sofa and a dual standard DVD player will sit on the glass shelves. The TV receives several English channels including CNN and BBC. You will also find a CD stereo system and free internet access throughout the apartment.

Pretty blues and beiges create a warm and welcoming room
We ordered the beautiful sofa bed from Italy and accented it with beige and pale blue pillows; the colors blend to create a warm and welcoming room. Turquoise shaded reading lights are the perfect touch so you can stretch out and read.

When we remodeled the apartment we found the original fireplace niches in the living room and bedroom and we opened them up. They create a wonderful point of charm in each room. Now, they are for decorative use as the chimneys were closed off decades ago.

Newly remodeled kitchen is extremely spacious and sunny
The newly remodeled kitchen is extremely spacious and features plenty of cupboard and counter space which is important when preparing meals for a larger group.

The cabinets are in pale café' au lait lacquer and we love the warm look. Good lighting is a must as you can see from the hanging pendants, halogen lights and more. The kitchen also receives plenty of natural light through the large French window.

Kitchen is fully equipped and there is plenty of workspace
The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator with freezer compartment, Bosch dishwasher, dual burner electric stove and microwave-convection oven. We have also installed a Siemens combination washer-dryer.

We have made sure there is plenty of workspace so you can enjoy shopping around the corner at rue Cler every day and preparing delicious meal with family and friends in the evening.

View past the kitchen & bar towards the entryway and bedroom
Pull up a chair on these beautiful leather bar stools which allow you to sit at the counter for breakfast or enjoy the cook's company while preparing dinner. A charming M.Lapin or Mr Rabbit coat hook hangs on the far wall and a long mirror hangs on the side of the cupboard.

Walk past the kitchen and bar towards the entryway and bedroom.

The spacious bedroom features two large French doors with open views over Paris rooftops! Look left and gaze on the golden dome of the Invalides; what a site to wake up to every morning!

The spacious bedroom has a high-quality, extra-wide queen bed with antique headboard and romantic canopy above it. Most Paris apartments never seem to have enough closets so we designed them on the far wall. The tones are soft rose and green, refreshing and Parisian.

We found an antique mirror to grace the fireplace and a comfortable armchair with ottoman to sit in the corner. Relax and read in peace and quiet, simply enjoying the fact that you are in Paris. An inviting armchair and footstool sit next to the bedroom fireplace (decorative only). What better way to relax in the evening than to curl up to a good book? It's your time in Paris and you should spend it in comfort.

When we remodeled the apartment we opened the walls and found the original chimney openings. While the chimneys were blocked long ago, we love the feeling of warmth that they bring.

The corner shower has pretty blue mosaics for design. We like the way the doors slide open and seal closed while you're taking your shower, so the water doesn't leak onto the floor. We are careful about what we choose and it's sometimes the little things that count.

Walk four blocks to the Champ de Mars gardens
Walk four blocks to the Champs de Mars Gardens where you can run, skate, rent a bicycle, play basketball or simply enjoy a slower life as Parisians do on the old green wooden benches.

Antique hand-cranked merry-go-round at the Champs de Mars gardens: if you have children, you can bring them to one of the four playgrounds in the gardens nearby, or to the antique puppet theatre which still has shows featuring the 'Guignol' puppets. This hand-cranked carousel dates from the 1800's and our own children loved it.

The Moulin à Vent is located in a sought-after neighborhood
You are one block from the famous rue Cler, and you can see it from the living room windows. This is one of the best food streets in Paris. Market day is every day here and you are spoiled for choice. One of our favorite Patisseries is on the corner so you can step outside in the morning and buy warm, buttery croissants. We love wandering around rue Cler, rue de Grenelle and rue St. Dominique with its plethora of delightful food stores, flower shops, green grocers and outdoor cafés.

Enjoy eating outdoors as the Parisians at the Café du Marché on the corner. Step outside and you're spoiled for choice, the reason so many Parisians love this neighborhood. The 7th arrondissement is undisputedly one of the most sought after, safest and most expensive neighborhoods in Paris. And it is our favorite. We love the many food stores, the Champs de Mars Gardens, the fact that real Parisians have lived here for generations, that you're in walking distance to the romantic river, to so many landmarks and museums, to the Grand Couturiers on Ave Montagine and Ave George V where the Four Seasons is and to three of the largest market streets in Paris. All of these factors make staying here a real neighborhood and home when you are in Paris.
