“Hi Madelyn, Philippe, Carolyn and everyone at ParisPerfect. My husband and I have traveled to Europe many times and to Paris 5 times. We stayed at beautiful hotels and even an apartment in 2005. The apartment was nice, BUT, there was no view and the service did not measure. This apartment rental was on the travel channel. Still it did not measure up to the romance we hoped to see and feel in Paris. Then we discovered ParisPerfect. Just wonderful! Quality, care, class, just the best. We stayed at the Cabernet in Jume of 2006. The view, the kitchen, the gift basket and everything you can think of was provided. Everything is quality. In 2007 Sept. we stayed at the Volnay it was the same great quality. Each with its own character and personality. In the comments it says, "that the apartments are like Madelyn's children," each unique and special and that is what we saw. We are returning in Spring/Summer of 2009. Do not hesitate to try these beautiful apartments. Even with the weak dollar they are very affordable. The bonus of being able to cook in the complete kichen is remarkable. I never thought I would cook in Paris. What me go to Paris and then cook? Yes I did, with the view of the Eiffel Tower, candles, wine a gift from Philippe and the French Doors to die for. We hope you have as wonderful a time as we did. One last remark. It never happened in any of our many travels, that we felt safe. If anything were to go wrong it would be solved with the least trauma, even health issues. Peace of Mind. There is no price for that. Warm Regars Lee and Sandy Woodworth”

Summary
- Important Features and the Neighborhood:
A rare, straight-on view of La Grande Dame de Paris, the Eiffel Tower, from five sets of French doors. Small decorative balconies allow you to step out and enjoy, but they are not wide enough for a table and chairs.
Third floor of the building (fourth floor American) means the apartment is light and high above street. Double-glass windows for excellent sound insulation; the rooms are quiet with the windows closed.
The location is one of the best in Paris:
Open Food Markets: Our neighborhood is famous for its open food markets where you will find more than any other quartier in Paris. Merchants come from all over France with wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, Brittany lobster, pâtés, breads, even five types of escargots!
Rue Cler is three blocks away, and is one of the best and most famous food-shopping streets in Paris; open Tuesdays through mid-day Sundays. Our favorite cheese merchant is here; tell them which day you wish to eat your choice and they will hand pick the perfect selection!
Pont de l'Alma is a five-minutes walk and has the largest open market in Paris every Wednesday and Sunday morning.
Ave de Saxe is open on Thursday and Saturdays and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful markets in Paris. Find many organic and deluxe food stands.
Blvd. de Grenelle: open on Wednesdays and Sundays. Prices are excellent at this market, located a few-minutes walk in the 15th arrondissement.
Rue du Commerce, near La Motte Piquet metro is a 10-minutes walk and a lively French neighborhood: find excellent fresh foods, loads of clothing stores and perfume shops, as well as the Monoprix department store (a French Target), with supermarket on the first floor-good quality and great prices.
You are surrounded by restaurants that local Parisians go to, cafés, bistros, and shops.
One block to the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars. The Champ de Mars Park is a rare bonus in Paris as there are few large parks in the center of the city. Walk or run; play in one of the three playgrounds or the basketball court; go to the puppet theater; or, just sit and enjoy. Nearby skating and bike rental are fun activities in the park, especially after strenuous site seeing.
You are two blocks from the Ecole Militaire, where Napoléon attended military school. This became Napoleon’s headquarters and housed his elite Emperor’s Troops in 1795. The buildings still show signs of the gunfire from the French Revolution in 1789 and the shelling when the Prussians declared war on France in 1870, to defeat Napoleon III. There are four statues on the façade representing: Might, Peace, Victory, and France. The statue of Victory is of Louis XV, one of the only ones remaining as the rest were destroyed during the French Revolution.
The apartment is near to the American Library, an institution in Paris where you can take out a daily membership and catch up on the news, read, work, and use their internet facilities.
In winter, the Eiffel Tower converts the first floor into an ice skating rink, 189 feet high above the rooftops of Paris.
We think you will love staying in Volnay, a beautiful Parisian apartment that offers memories of a lifetime!
Please let me know if you have any other questions; we are happy to help.
P.S. Buying the Volnay apartment in Paris has a special meaning for us. We knew the apartment owners for 25 years and although they listed it with a Paris agent, they agreed to sell to us over the telephone-often the case with great apartments. Years ago, the owner’s daughter and grandsons lived in this one-bedroom apartment. We knew the two boys had little supervision or care. They ran around the building shouting and screaming at all hours of the day and night, sad and frustrating for everyone to watch. One lovely woman on the second floor would have them for tea and for meals to try to teach them manners and to give them some attention, but she thought it was hopeless. Finally, the grandparents were able to adopt them before the eldest was 10, and took them under their wings with love and much care. Thanks to the grandparents, the boys have grown up into fine young men with good jobs (the grandfather is so proud of his grandson’s company car and position with an American software company). As the neighbors say, the boys have learned correct manners (meaning shaking the hands of their former neighbors and greeting them as Monsieur et Madame -- an important quality for the French). As the grandfather says, his grandsons have kept them young. - Important Features and the Neighborhood:

Better than a romantic hotel in Paris, our romantic apartment is situated in the 7th arrondissement, on the left bank of the river Seine. This romantic apartment rental is in one of the nicest neighborhoods of Paris. The apartment is surrounded by cafés, shops, restaurants, and open markets.
More romantic than any hotel in Paris, our Volnay apartment is fabulous. How else to name an apartment that is the most romantic hotel in Paris? After the elegant Volnay wines that express a red fruit bouquet like violet and raspberries along with a lovely creamy texture, our Volnay Paris apartment combines tasteful Parisian decoration with unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower from five sets of French doors - a result that is sheer magic. We have carefully remodeled our Paris apartment to the highest standards and the result is more romantic than any hotel you could find in Paris. We've even installed central air conditioning in our Volnay Paris apartment to ensure your total comfort.
This spacious 550 square foot, one-bedroom apartment is in the heart of Paris and sleeps up to four people. It is located in the 7th arrondissement on the Left Bank, a stone's throw from the river; you are surrounded by cafés, shops, and restaurants that local Parisians go to. Why stay in a Paris hotel when this romantic apartment is more beautiful and spacious; when you can sleep up to three people with the advantage of a dining room, living room, and kitchen? The cost of one good meal at a restaurant makes a Paris hotel room more expensive than this romantic, stunning apartment. In addition, our romantic Paris apartment is fully air-conditioned, a rarity in Paris.
When we first viewed our Volnay apartment, the layout was odd because the bathroom had a full view of the Eiffel Tower. Not only could you see the Eiffel Tower from the bathroom, but anyone on the Eiffel Tower with a pair of binoculars could see you as well!
However, with five sets of French doors; an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower from the living room, bedroom, and kitchen; with streaming sunlight from its southwest location; original hardwood floors under the worn carpet; and, the original fireplace, it definitely had our 'Wow' factor! We knew that when we finished gutting and remodeling it, Volnay would be more beautiful and romantic than any hotel in Paris!
Our team teases that Madelyn loves each apartment as her children, for their own special reasons. Volnay is no exception, as you will see. We think that staying here or at any of our romantic apartments at www.parisperfect.com will mean you will never stay in a hotel in Paris again.
Walk into the apartment on the third floor (with elevator) to the bedroom in front of you. This romantic room in beautiful French Provençal style has a large, high-quality queen-sized bed (63 inches rather than 60 inches wide for American queens), French doors with decorative balcony (not wide enough for a table and chairs), and a view towards the Champ de Mars gardens. Floor to ceiling closets mean plenty of storage, along with an antique chest of drawers and a small desk to work at. This beats a hotel room in Paris any day. Or, couples can enjoy a café au lait in bed and watch the view.
The WC (toilet room) is next on your right, with my favorite Italian marble on the walls. The small sink, cupboard, and hooks mean extra 'getting ready' room for three people. Parisians are accustomed to small apartments and you could never find such small but practical sinks in the U.S.
On your left, enter the piece de resistance, the living room. The view from the two sets of French doors in this Paris apartment simply takes your breath away - the Eiffel Tower stands in front of you. You will never forget your trip to Paris for this view alone. Watch the sunset behind La Grande Dame as 20,000 lights sparkle on the Eiffel Tower at night. With a glass of wine and good company, you don't need to be anywhere else to experience the most romantic and beautiful city in the World. You can step out on the small decorative balconies to enjoy the views.
The living room has a high-quality sofa bed that was made for us in Italy and is over six feet long. It is perfect for sitting or taking naps during the day. At night, a single trundle bed rolls out from underneath and voilà, a perfect bed! Italian design is remarkable; you pull up on a bar and the trundle to bed level rises to bed height.
There is a flat screen LCD TV and a dual-standard DVD player so you can bring your favorite movies from home. Watch one of the English channel news stations, such as CNN, CNBC, or BBC. The stereo is next to the TV so you can bring your favorite music to enjoy during your stay, or connect up your MP3 player with a cable.
The room is decorated in soft beige and cream tones, highlighted by aqua silk curtains. The theme is music, with a Florentine painted chest of drawers of musical instruments as the centerpiece. Sunlight streams through the curtains and add to the feeling of elegance and softness. We found two comfortable armchairs at the Puces antiques market, restored and recovered them with beige fabric with white bees. We think these are perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day of shopping and site seeing. Their beautiful handmade fringe is from Houlès, a store famous for its trimmings in the decorating world. Our hunt for comfortable armchairs is never-ending as French taste often tends towards uncomfortable wooden ones. (We know we would want comfortable chairs and sofas wherever we stay and you would, too.)
The chairs face the original red marble fireplace (decorative only) on your right, with old Italian andirons flanking it. The tops of the andirons are circular in shape, to hold copper pots of soups and meat, keeping them warm in the winter.
As with all of our apartments, we fit the highest quality double glass windows in our apartments, the same as used by luxury hotels. This means you can have a quiet night's sleep while living in the heart of Paris.
Across the hallway from the living room is the bathroom. This room was originally the kitchen; and, under the window, you can still see the cupboard that sticks into the airshaft, where families in the 1800's stored their fresh foods before the age of the refrigerator. Find the bathroom tiled in beige Botticcino marble from Italy (which we now import ourselves), good lighting, double sinks, Miéle washer and dryer, and a full-sized bathtub with shower. After remodeling over 18 apartments, we think we have found the most comfortable design for our apartments, including the largest hot water tank made for residential use (80 gallons), fixed showerheads, and bathtub-shower combinations.
The second piece de resistance is the dining room with kitchen, just at the end of the hall. Two sets of French doors open out to views of the Eiffel Tower and of the neighborhood below. It's special to watch a day in Paris unfold below: parents taking children to school; people buying their morning and evening baguettes, coming back from the market with their shopping baskets full, or joining friends for an espresso at the café on the corner. We believe that a great view is an important factor to an unforgettable stay in Paris, whether it's for your first or fiftieth time. It is extremely difficult to find these kinds of apartments; we say they must have the 'Wow!' factor when you walk in the door. Volnay definitely provides this.
The kitchen and dining room have a clean, contemporary look. The glass-topped table comfortably seats six. A modern chandelier with white blown glass bulbs hangs above it, giving just the right modern touch to this room. This sunny room welcomes you to stay home and have dinner there. It's also practical; there is a dividing door from the hallway, one can stay up late or get up early and not disturb the others.
The kitchen has white lacquered cabinets and beautiful pale green granite countertops. And, it is fully stocked for cooking and eating in: full-sized refrigerator with freezer, toaster, microwave and oven combination, burners, Nespresso espresso-cappuccino machine, drip coffeemaker, white porcelain dishes from E. Dehillerin (who supplies all the porcelain for fine restaurants in Paris), stainless steel pots and pans, and an excellent selection of accessories and serving dishes. We have designed extra storage for kitchen overflow in the dining area.
We leave several Paris guidebooks and other information on the neighborhood for you to peruse during your stay.
This is a non-smoking apartment and, sorry, but no pets are allowed.
We think this is one of the most romantic and comfortable apartments in Paris and our many guests agree! Please let me know if you have any other questions about our Paris apartment rental or if we can help in any way. We think your stay at www.parisperfect.com will bring you memories of a lifetime!

“Dear Madelyn and Philippe,
Our stay in the Volnay apartment with our son over our extra-long Thanksgiving weekend was wonderful, due largely to your fine attention to detail and your efforts to make sure our five days were problem-free. Just as when I stayed in your other apartment earlier this year with my friend Susan, everything was beautifully arranged when we arrived and all our needs were met during the stay. We have recommended the apartments to friends -- not just because the apartments are well-appointed but also because of their proximity to the Eiffel Tower and to an assortment of excellent boulangeries and patisseries, fine restaurants and lovely stores -- and because they are not a far walk, either, to the Invalides, the Petis Palais, the Grand Palais and the new Musee Branly. We look forward with delight to future stays!
Sincerely,
Chris”

“My husband and I just returned from our stay at Volnay. It could not have been more perfect. Beautifully furnished and a fantastic view from all rooms.
I couldn't wait to get up in the morning and have my coffee and bagette watching Parisan life out of the kitchen windows.
It was the perfect 25th anniversary. We can't wait to return.”
