It was in an alley...nearly 30 years ago. I had decided that I needed to empty the garbage from my beach rental, and out I sauntered to the bins in the alley. There, across the way, was a beautiful lass, washing her car. Tan. Lithe. Very Southern California. Engrossed in her chore. Feeling now liberated of my refuse, I sauntered (for the second time today!) over to her. Introduced myself. Engaged in small talk. Enjoyed the moment immensely. But certainly not wanting to overstay my welcome, and realizing that I was still holding my waste basket, I said, "Nice to meet you..." and headed back across the alley.

And we've been together ever since.
