To the left of the kitchen of our Medoc Paris rental you will find the bathroom. The design is brilliant; we took advantage of the curved wall to install a full-sized shower. Note that there is a fixed shower head as well as a flexible one – an added convenience in most of our Paris rentals. We used square marble tiles that we imported from Italy with a pretty geometric pattern design in two different colors of marble: nocciola (which means hazlenut) and cream. There is a round sink on the right of the bathroom, with glass shelf underneath for storing towels etc. We had a medicine chest built for extra storage. We try to think of everything in our Paris rentals: good lighting, plenty of hot water, lots of hooks and fixed shower heads! In the Medoc Paris rental bathroom, find numerous halogen lights in the Paris rental bathroom and plenty of hooks to hang your toilet bags, towels etc.
The French like flexible shower heads but we Americans prefer fixed. Wherever we can in our Paris rentals, we try to provide both, a rarity in Paris. It was a nightmare to get our builders to understand this during our first remodels, but now they are old hands..
These small touches set us apart; things like 100 watt light bulbs, quality furniture, lots of hooks and a friendly team. We own or manage our Paris rentals directly which means we set high standards for them. We decided when we started the business ten years ago that we wouldn’t want to step into a Paris rental to find that it was not up to standards in terms of plumbing, electricity and cleanliness and neither should our guests. We determined to maintain the highest standards that we could in our Paris rentals..
We are especially lucky to have an excellent team in Paris, who will greet you with a smile when you arrive at your Paris rental and who are on call 7 days a week to offer advice and to answer questions. We are one of the only Paris rental companies to invest in their own team in Paris. Most companies hire contract employees who rush from one apartment to another to clean and to handle arrivals for a host of different companies. We don’t believe they can do a consistently good job for guests so we made the investment in our own people.
We are often asked how you can tell which Paris rental companies have their own on-the-ground operations in Paris. It’s not always easy to find out, but one question you can ask is whether they have a physical office location in Paris. Most of them don’t. Some companies do have offices, but they are frequently reservation offices only. Ask whether the agency actually owns or directly manages the apartments on their site, or whether they represent Paris rental apartments for a host of different owners and ‘friends’. .Ask whether the owners themselves do the greetings and cleanings for their apartments? If you hear that they represent them for separate owners, then they don’t have their own cleaners, service people and greeters. And this makes it difficult for the agency to control cleanliness and quality.
We chose a different route, to own our Paris rentals ourselves or to take direct control over our selection. We have a smaller selection than most, but we feel we have chosen them with and maintain them with great care.
The above-the-counter sink in our Medoc Paris rental bathroom sits on a marble countertop. There is a glass shelf for towels and storage underneath, a hairdryer on the wall to your right.
