Description of our Paris apartment

This beautiful, luxuriously furnished Paris apartment is approximately 970 sq. ft. and has 2 full bedrooms and 2½ baths. It can accommodate up to 6 people. The location, proximity to park, river and monuments make it one of the most desirable locations in Paris. The apartment was recently remodeled, creating a romantic master bed/bath combination along with other new features:

  • Balcony
  • 5th and 6th floor (6th and 7th American) of the building means it is light and high above street.
  • Elevator.
  • Oak parquet floors, fireplace.
  • Location is one of the best in Paris: 5 minutes walk to the Invalides, 10 minutes to the Trocadéro, the Grand Palais and the couturier's on Ave. Montaigne. 15 minutes walk to the Champs Elysées, 20 minutes walk to Place de la Concorde and the Bon Marché department store.
  • Within 2 blocks of the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars. The Champ de Mars Park is a rare bonus in Paris as there are few large parks in the center of the city. Walk, run, play in 1 of 3 playgrounds, basketball court, go to the puppet theater or just sit and enjoy. Nearby skating and bike rental are a fun activity in the park, especially after strenuous site seeing.
  • River is 3 blocks away where the famous Bateau Mouche boat tours begin.
  • Open Markets: Rue Cler is 3 blocks away, one of the best and most famous streets for food in Paris. Pont de l'Alma is 5 minutes walk and has the largest open market in Paris every Saturday morning. Merchants come from the country with: wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, patés, breads, even 5 types of escargots!

Enter our apartment on the 5th floor (6th floor American) to a small entryway, antique chest and closet. The living room is to the left, spiral staircase leading to the 6th floor straight ahead.

The first powder room with toilet and sink are immediately to your left as you enter the front door. There are ample closets for coats and baggage in the apartment.

The living room of the apartment is spacious and designer-furnished in yellows, with oak parquet floors, cream-colored walls and a white antique fireplace. There are 2 large sofas upholstered in yellows, beautiful antique mirror and large coffee table. The sofas convert into 2 comfortable single beds at night without having to remove any cushions -- a feat of Italian engineering.

The TV, VCR and stereo are located in the cupboards next to fireplace. The dvd player is adapted for American movies. The living room is spacious and extremely comfortable for relaxing at the end of a long day of sightseeing or shopping.

Two sets of French doors lead from the living room to the balcony where you find an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower to the left and city life below. A round marble bistro table and chairs sit on the balcony for you to enjoy croissants and café au lait, or toast the sunset in the evening.

You will love standing on the balcony and watch Parisian life unfold below, as they go to work, take their children to school, buy their baguettes and meeting friends to have a coffee or meal at the local café. We believe that a great view is an important factor to your enjoyment of Paris and adds to the richness of your memories. It is extremely difficult to find these kinds of apartments; we say they must have the ‘Wow!’ factor when you walk in the door.

All of the French doors and windows have been fitted with sound proof glass, the same as used in luxury hotels. The apartment is very quiet and it’s hard to believe you are in the middle of Paris – until you gaze at the view.

The dining room and kitchen area of our Paris apartment are next. The kitchen is a special bonus if you wish to live ‘à la Parisienne’ as it is extremely large by Parisian standards and fitted with every appliance. You will love to shop at the famous rue Cler market street or in one of the 3 large open markets nearby – for the best breads, patisseries, meats and fish, produce, cheese, wines and even pre prepared meals – and dine at home in a beautiful apartment. As anyone will tell you, it is an enormous pleasure to visit with friends and family over a great meal at home – and a big savings to your pocketbook as well.

The glass-topped dining table seats 8 and this room overlooks the inside courtyard from 2 large windows. The kitchen is fitted with all appliances: refrigerator/freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher, toaster, etc. It is a very large kitchen by Parisian standards and Dishes are from E. Dehellerin in Paris, the shop which furnishes all good restaurants. With a full array of cookware, you can shop the local market and prepare your own gourmet meals.

From the entryway, a circular glass brick wall surrounds the brushed steel spiral staircase leading upstairs to 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The guest bath is at the top of the stairs to the left: it has been completely remodeled with full fixed shower, sink, washer and dryer. It is tiled in beige French limestone.

A separate toilet is located on 6th floor landing, similar to the 5th floor. Bathroom two is to your left at the top of the stairs, with full-sized shower, sink, separate washer and dryer by Miele, the top brand. It is tiled in pale beige limestone to give a soft feel; the large window overlooks the inner courtyard.

The master bedroom of the apartment is decorated in beige and has a dual king bed and ample closets. The mattresses are high quality and new. The master bedroom has a soft, romantic feel decorated with beige and cream tones. Two long rows of closets lead directly to the en suite bathroom. The bathroom has been remodeled and is tiled in beautiful white Carrara marble with a luxurious art deco feel. Find a full-sized bathtub, separate fixed shower and double sinks. It is a treat to relax in a hot bath at the end of a long day of shopping and site seeing. We like to leave the curtains in the bedroom open and gaze out at the Paris skyline while soaking in the bath The bathtub is a delight, a large oval shape, tiled in small pink tiles, with the latest Italian taps. You will love taking long hot baths after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. You can lay in the bath and look out through the bedroom window to the buildings and sky beyond, really fun.

From the master bedroom and from the second bedroom, look left to see the Eiffel Tower. This is one of the top floors of a Parisian building, so the view of La Grande Dame de Paris and over the rooftops of Paris is unmatched. We have installed new sound insulated windows so the bedrooms are extremely quiet. Blackout shades mean an excellent night’s sleep.

The second bedroom of the apartment is decorated in beige and pale blue and has twin beds. There are pale blue Provencal bedspreads on each bed. An antique mahogany dresser and large closet provide ample storage. The beds can be easily pushed together to make a dual king for added flexibility. This charming bedroom has a view of the Eiffel Tower to the left and over the rooftops that lead to the river.
