Festival Saint Denis

If you're looking for a two-wheel adventure, hire a Vélib bicycle and join thousands of cyclists as they pedal to the centre of Paris for a huge picnic celebration. Bicycles are available for hire at dozens of locations throughout Paris and can be picked up and returned at different locations. Designer Days

The Designer Days festival takes place all over the city of Paris and involves a wide-range of designers showcasing the latest in furniture, interior design, homeware, and more.

Paris Jazz Festival Begins
8th June - 28th July 2013
Why not to enjoy free concerts on a warm summer day at the Parc Floral de Paris? The Paris Jazz Festival offers up another calendar of excellent jazz shows for 2013. Concerts are free with the admission to the park, which is accessible via public transport. Take the Métro to Château de Vincennes (1) or the RER line A to Vincennes.

The Chopin Festival Begins in Paris

The Chopin Society once again presents its tribute to one of the world’s great romantic composers, Frederick Chopin, at the Chopin Festival 2012. The setting at the lovely Orangerie in the Parc de Bagatelle is ideal for hearing recitals of the composer’s work performed by hundreds of musicians from around the world. Music lovers won’t want to miss this festival showcasing Chopin’s works in a magical setting!

Fete de la Musique

Launched in 1982, the Fête de la Musique, also called World Music Day around the world, takes place on the longest day of the year and celebrates music in all its forms. In Paris, live bands present free concerts throughout the city. The celebrations take on a carnival feel and offer visitors a chance to join in the fun at locations across Paris.

Velib 5th Anniversary Festival
23rd to 24th June 2013
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Paris' public bicycle system, Vélib, the Mayor's office is holding a festival on the world-famous Champs-Elysées. The festival will run for 24 hours from Saturday 23rd to Sunday 24th June and include cycling courses for the little ones, musical enterainment and a relay that aims to raise funds for charity.

Midsummer Fireworks

Paris celebrates the summer with the Midsummer Fireworks, a spectacular display set off from the Ile Saint Louis on the evening of June 24th each year. Whether you’re celebrating the shortest night of the year or St. John the Baptist or simply a perfect summer evening in Paris, the Midsummer Fireworks are not to be missed! The display can be enjoyed from the Quai Saint Bernard along the Seine or any spot with a view in Paris. A popular spot with Parisians and visitors alike is at Sacre-Coeur atop the Butte in Montmartre.

Cinema lovers are in for a treat in late June during the Fête du Cinéma when films in Paris can been seen for a reduced fee of only a few euros after buying one regularly priced ticket. If you love movies, it’s a fun and cultural way to spend a summer evening in Paris!

Summer Sales Start in Paris!

LGBT Pride March (Gay Pride)

This year on Saturday, June 29th the Paris Gay Pride Parade will take the streets by storm in one of the year's most festive and colorful events. The parade will start near the Montparnarsse-Bienvenue Métro station in the 15th arrondissement and will make its way through the city to the Place de la Bastille for a huge street party.
Tour de France Starts

For cycling enthusiasts around the world the Tour de France is one of the most exciting races of the year. The 100th annual Tour de France starts on Saturday, June 29th and finishes on Sunday, July 21st. If you love cycling, it’s a unique experience to see the riders go by in any of the stages during the race. However, the most exciting way for many is to see the final stage of the Tour de France as the riders zoom through the streets of Paris on their way to the finish line on the Champs-Élysées.
