Description of our Paris apartment rental
Imagine a stunning 180 degree view from the balcony that wraps around the perimeter of our Sancerre apartment rental in Paris. Step out onto the apartment’s balcony and gaze over the Paris skyline, from the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars Gardens, to the top of the dome of the Invalides – our vacation rental guests cannot believe it. The wrap-around balcony is only one of the many striking features of this lovely, Parisian apartment rental. With two bedrooms, two baths and air conditioning so you can enjoy the best view in style and comfort on your vacation in Paris.
Our Sancerre Paris apartment rental measures 800 square feet and has seven sets of French doors leading to the balcony overlooking Paris; a memory of a lifetime for your vacation in Paris. The view is stupendous: a straight-on view of La Grande Dame de Paris: the Eiffel Tower, and the Champ de Mars Park, as well as onto the charming neighborhood below. The Sancerre Paris vacation rental is on the fifth floor (sixth floor American and with elevator), the most desirable floors in paris, with a balcony and faces west, bathing the apartment in soft light and sunshine. Elegantly furnished, newly redecorated, it offers our rental guests warmth and elegance for an unforgettable stay in Paris.
Enter this delightful Parisian apartment to a large entryway with an antique dresser on your left and two separate wc’s (water closet to the British, private toilet to Americans!) on your right. It’s rare for Paris apartments to have two WC’s and we made sure to install a second one.
There is a closet in the entryway, providing ample storage for luggage.
The first bathroom of our Paris apartment is straight ahead and has been tiled in beige and red marble. It has a bathtub/shower with glass partition (not shown in photograph) sink, lots of hooks for hanging towels and toilet kits. It is a nice size and practical because of its independent access from the main hallway.
Continue down the corridor to the master bedroom. This is a sunny, west-facing room with a new queen-size bed, original white marble fireplace, and antique armoire. The bedroom of the Sancerre apartment rental in has a pair of French doors that leads to the wrap-around balcony, overlooking one of the best neighborhoods in Paris. You can sip your espresso and read the Herald Tribune newspaper on the balcony’s small bistro table in the morning (an excellent patisserie is literally across the street), enjoying the view over the quartier’s rooftops, including the dome of the Invalides in the distance.
Storage in the master bedroom is very good, with a built-in closet in addition to the armoire. The bedroom leads to the master bath of the apartment, which has been tiled in rose marble and has a bathtub/shower and sink. Lots of hooks and a heated towel rail – it is a comfortable and spacious bathroom by Parisian standards. Another pair of French doors leads onto the balcony.
Continue down the hallway to the second bedroom of our Paris apartment rental, on your left. This is a charming room, decorated in French Provençal-style, with elegant blue Toile de Jouy fabric bedspreads on twin beds. Built-in closets mean good storage along with bookshelves and a dresser. Both bedrooms have the same special features of French doors and balcony, making it easy for two couples to make equitable choices of bedroom accommodations.
An important note: all of the windows are state-of-the-art double glazed, the same as used in luxury hotels. The apartment is located in the middle of this bustling city, but is extremely quiet for a good night’s sleep.
You find the kitchen on the right, off the main hallway of the apartment, as you head towards the living and dining room. This is a large kitchen by Parisian standards, with double sinks, microwave/convection oven combination, large refrigerator/freezer, four-burner cook top, toaster, coffee pot, electric teapot, and a Nespresso maker, for real style. The washer/dryer is top-of-the-line by Miele, as is the Leifheit refrigerator. The cabinets are made of limed oak with classic twisted iron handles from France. We have provided all of the cooking and serving accessories you need with restaurant-quality pots and pans. The white porcelain dishes are from E. Dehellerin in Paris, the shop which furnishes all good restaurants. With a full array of cookware, you can shop the local open markets and shops to prepare your own gourmet meals.
The piece de resistance is the spacious living and dining room of the apartment, straight ahead. This is a much-coveted corner apartment on a high floor and there are four pairs of French doors which lead onto the balcony to stunning views of the Eiffel Tower, gardens of the Champ de Mars, and Parisian life below.
We had a special treat last July, when we were able to watch the Tour de France race by from the balcony, to celebrate its 100th anniversary. In September, we watched the men’s and women’s Paris marathons run by; it was a thrill to cheer them on. We even managed to photograph the first group of runners, seen under ‘More Photographs’.
On the balcony of our Sancerre apartment rental, there is a round marble bistro table and chairs which face the Eiffel Tower and overlook Paris. Enjoy croissants and café au lait each morning, or toast the sunset in the evening. At www.parisperfect.com, we believe that a crucial element of your stay in Paris is to be able to enjoy this kind of view – whether for the first or fiftieth time. We want you to sit and watch the day unfold below: parents taking children to school; people buying their morning and evening baguettes, coming back from the market with their shopping baskets full, or joining friends for an espresso in the café on the corner. We believe that a great view is an important factor to a wonderful stay in Paris, whether it’s for your first or fiftieth time. It is extremely difficult to find these kinds of apartments; we say they must have the ‘Wow!’ factor when you walk in the door. As a result, our selection is small, but we are uncompromising in our standards.
As seen in the photographs, the dining area is on the right as you enter the living area, with a beech wood table which expands to seat six. The white marble fireplace and mirror are original and add a feeling of coziness to the room. We think this is one of the most romantic and dramatic tables from which to dine in Paris, as you can view the Eiffel Tower and its magic show of lights every hour, listening to your favorite music on the stereo.
A small desk with tall lamps sits between two French doors, which means you can work while enjoying the view of the trees in the Champ de Mars Gardens.
On the left of this spacious room is the living area, with sofa bed and armchairs for relaxing after a hard day of walking. The empire-style sofa bed was made for us and we find it more practical and comfortable for guests than traditional sofa beds. It is over two meters long and actually has a twin mattress for the sofa seat, plus a twin trundle which pulls out from underneath. The mattresses are on wooden slats, meaning good support at sleeping and sitting. They are good for sitting on, for taking naps, or to convert to comfortable beds at night.
A large antique chest of drawers and mirror reflect the period of this beautiful apartment and contrast with the modern coffee table and accessories. A touch of humor to the decoration at Sancerre: we found two armor breastplates and helmets for ‘Roman soldiers’ which were manufactured for the Cinecitta film studios in Rome in the 1950s. We laughed when we saw them, remembering the Dolce Vita era of Cinecitta’s heyday. This was where the larger-than-life productions of Ben Hur, starring Charlton Heston and Cleopatra, with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were filmed. Somewhere among the armies of thousands of extras who played the Roman Army, you will find those two breastplates!
As with all of our apartment rentals, you will find an American-standard DVD player so you can bring your favorite films. Our stereo system includes a CD player as well, so remember to bring your most romantic music. There is free access to a wireless adsl line for your computer, with secure password.

- The Seine River is three blocks away and right near where the famous Bateau Mouche boat tours begin.
- Open Markets: Rue Cler is five blocks away, one of the best and most famous streets for food in Paris. Pont de l'Alma is a five-minutes walk and has the largest open market in Paris every Saturday morning. Merchants come from the country with wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, pâtés, breads, even five types of escargots!
We leave several Paris guidebooks and other information on the neighborhood for you to peruse during your stay.
