Set out from Paris first thing in the morning and travel into the heart of France's wine country. Arriving in the historic city of Reims, you'll begin your day with a guided tour through the cellars of the Mumm Champagne house, one of the world's most prestigious wine producers. After exploring the underground vaults and discovering the secrets of production, you'll enjoy a sampling of their famous Red Ribbon champagne. Afterwards you'll wind your way through the romantic streets of this ancient city to the Gothic splendor of the Notre-Dame de Reims where your guide will regale you with stories of the cathedral's rich history. A break for lunch gives you time to explore on your own and to enjoy the delights of French cuisine in one of the city's many fine restaurants or cafés. Rejoin the tour group after lunch for a drive through the vineyard covered region of Épernay and arrive at the home of Mercier Champagne, nestled amongst its expansive vineyards. Another tour of the wine cellars will allow you to appreciate the variation of production. End your afternoon here with a champagne tasting before returning to Paris in the evening.
