Dolcetto is the name of this gorgeous rustic apartment available for long-term rental in Paris! It lies in the central heart of Saint-Germain-des-Près. It has one bedroom, but sleeps up to four people, making this the perfect place for a couple, small family or group of friends. Take a virtual walk through this cozy apartment with us, and you’ll instantly feel the cozy, antique character we love so much!
A Long Term Rental in Paris
Dolcetto is full of modern comforts. The exposed stone walls and wooden ceiling beams subtly hearken back to medieval architecture; a floral tapestry and all the framed prints, knick-knacks, throw blankets and cushions make the place feel perfectly lived-in and relaxed. The leather chairs, fireplace mantle and layered rugs over original hardwood floors will make you feel like you’re nestled safely in the heart of an ancient city, while the big, bright windows keep the space feeling open and light – the perfect combination.
The dining area is conveniently tucked into the far corner of the main living room. This is the perfect setting for intimate, candlelit dinners and relaxed lunches, which you can prepare in your fully equipped kitchen just a few steps away. We love that the dining room is integrated into the living space – it makes for an open and convivial atmosphere.
If the main living room doesn’t provide enough comfort for you, just head into the den! This room is equipped with yet another window overlooking the street and an additional comfy couch that doubles as a bed. It even has a trundle mattress hidden underneath, so this den makes the perfect second bedroom!
Speaking of bedrooms, let’s take a look at the main sleeping quarters. Adorned simply and comfortably, you have everything you need here – queen size bed, plenty of space to walk around and a window that faces in towards the quiet inner courtyard. A large walk-in closet is just down the hall, where you can store your suitcases, hang up your clothes and keep all your purchases and souvenirs!
Just off the hallway and next to the bedroom is the restroom, charmingly equipped with an old-fashioned claw-foot tub! We especially love the unique diamond design of the wood floors here. Take a few more steps down the hall, past the walk-in closet, and you’re back in the great room!
Now let’s take a look outside. This apartment lies on the historic Rue du Dragon, a street named after an intricate sculpture of a dragon that once graced the façade of a grand private residence on the street. The dragon relief sculpture was eventually moved to the Louvre, while a copy now adorns building number 50 on nearby Rue de Rennes.
The Dolcetto apartment is less than one block away from the main square of Saint-Germain-des-Près. It’s here you’ll find all the famous literary cafés like Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots. You could have dinner in a completely new setting every night, whether it’s in the Art Nouveau wonderland of Le Petit Zinc, or the classy courtyard of the Ralph Lauren restaurant.
There’s also tons of fabulous shopping in the 6th Arrondissement, from high end to more affordable brands. On the long stretch of Rue de Rennes you’ll find high street brands like H&M, Mango and Zara. On Boulevard Saint Germain and sprinkled throughout the criss-crossing streets of this charming neighborhood, you’ll find higher end brands like Sonia Rykiel, Yves Saint Laurent and Agnès B. Last, but not least, at the edge of the quartier you’ll find the historic department store Le Bon Marché!
