Christmas Monsters Take Over Galeries Lafayette!

Standing under the soaring glass dome of Galeries Lafayette and admiring the Art Nouveau grandeur, it’s easy to see why this gorgeous department store is one of the bastions of fine shopping in Paris. During the holiday season a touch of playfulnes is often added to the elegant fashions and beautiful setting of Galeries Lafayette. Last year’s Christmas windows (take a peek here!)featured an enchanting scene with dolls and bears romping their way through a winter wonderland and a sparkly Christmas tree under the grand dome created by Swatch. This year things have gotten decidedly more adventuresome as Christmas monsters took over the store – turning the huge Christmas tree upside down!

That such a refined and historic department store like Galeries Lafayette would be so bold and, well, kind of silly is just fabulous. It keeps the holiday shopping spirit light and fun – for the whole family! The windows along Boulevard Haussmann are popular with adults and children alike as they crowd along to peer inside at the magical displays. This year the brightly colored Christmas monsters romp and play among creative and fun designs.
